BECEP at Richholt will be hosting Breakfast with Buddies on Tuesday, March 28th, from 8:00 to 8:30 am, in the Richholt Gym. More information to come with directions on how to RSVP.

April 1 thru 7th - Week of the Young Child
Week of the Young Child April 1st through April 7th
Classrooms will celebrate the children by doing a variety of special activities during the week. There is so much that children learn as they sing, cook together, build together, create art, and celebrate with their families. Here are fun dress up days for school, as well as activities to do at home as we celebrate our children.MONDAY, APRIL 3rd “HAT DAY” - WEAR YOUR FAVORITE HAT!
Music Monday
Not only does music develop creativity, but children can learn literacy, language, and math skills through music. Learn a new song!TUESDAY, APRIL 4th “Favorite Team/Sports Day” - WEAR YOUR FAVORITE TEAM/SPORTS CLOTHING! Tasty Tuesday
Create healthy snacks and learn how to follow recipes. This day focuses on teaching young children about healthy eating and fitness. Try making an easy recipe together at home.WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5th “WORD DAY” - WEAR A SHIRT WITH WORDS ON IT!
Work Together Wednesday
Help young children develop social skills and learn to work together by building together. Meet up with friends and work together to practice social skills.THURSDAY, APRIL 6th “TIE DYE DAY” - WEAR TIE DYE CLOTHING!
Artsy Thursday
Art is very important for developing creativity and fine motor skills. Have children explore their senses through creating shapes with playdough.FRIDAY, APRIL 7th “WEAR YOUR FAVORITE COLOR AT HOME” (NO SCHOOL) - DRESS UP IN YOUR FAVORITE COLOR FROM HEAD TO TOE
Family Friday
Celebrate those who support young learners. Share family stories and pictures to acknowledge the role families play in a child’s learning. Parents can read a favorite children’s book to their early learner or take their child on a picnic. -
April 7th and 10th - NO SCHOOL
There will be no school on April 7th or April 10th.

April 26th - NO SCHOOL
There will be no school on April 26th for BECEP only. The rest of the Bismarck Public School District will have class. This is a day for Head Start teachers to conduct home visits and for Early Childhood Special Education teachers to have a Professional Development day.

February is Kindergarten Registration Month
Starting February 1st, registration will be open for students entering Kindergarten who will be 5 years old on or before July 31, 2023. You will be receiving information regarding this process from the District office. If you completed the online registration already, your child will be automatically enrolled in their elementary school. If you did NOT complete the online registration, you will be given instructions on how to complete this step so your child can be enrolled at the elementary school.

BPS Family Assistance Fund
The Bismarck Public Schools Foundation (BPSF) has established a BPS Family Assistance Fund. Those that wish to donate may do so through the foundation website or by mail. To donate online, go to https://www.bpsfoundation.com/donations/bps-faf/. To donate by mail, send checks to the BPS Foundation at 806 N. Washington St., Bismarck, ND 58501 and write “BPS-FAF” in the memo line. Families seeking assistance are encouraged to reach out to their counselor or social worker who will connect them to established community resources as well as submit requests for funding needs that cannot be met within existing resources. The BPSF thanks those who have already reached out to volunteer and/or provide monetary donations to help those within our community who are struggling.
